• Vehicle Impounds

     A vehicle release must be obtained in person at the Santa Ana Unified School District Police Department

     The following information and documents will be required:
    • The registered owner or their agent must be present with a VALID driver's license
    • If the registered owner does not possess a driver's license, he/she must have a valid California D.M.V. Identification Card 
    • Proof of current registration for the impounded vehicle
    • A $125.00 fee to be paid by MONEY ORDER or CASHIERS CHECK or CREDIT CARD - ONLY - for the release of the vehicle Acceptable Credit Cards: VISA, MASTERCARD & DISCOVER
    * Person's acting as "agents" may be required to possess a power of attorney or notarized letter authorizing the "agent" to act on the owner's behalf.

    Post Storage Hearings
     
    California Vehicle Code Section 22852 provides the vehicle's registered and legal owner or record, or their agents, with the opportunity for a Post Storage Hearing to determine the validity of the storage.  The owners, or their agents, shall request the hearing in person, in writing, or by telephone.  The request must be made within ten (10) days of the date appearing on the notice which is mailed or personally delivered to the vehicle's registered and legal owners of record, or their agents.
