Early Childhood Programs

  • SAUSD offers a variety of programs to meet the needs of early childhood students:

     

    Universal Pre Kindergarten- Early Learning Options

    As part of our early learning programs, Santa Ana Unified School District (SAUSD) is in the process of expanding the age range of students eligible for Transitional Kindergarten (TK) through the 2024-25 school year, when every 4-year-old will be eligible to attend TK. 

     

    For the 2022-2023 school year, SAUSD will be offering the following Early Learning options:

    Child’s Birth Date

    Early Learning Options

    9/2/2016-9/1/2017

    • Kindergarten

    9/2/2017-2/2/18

    Parents may choose:

    • Transitional Kindergarten (TK)
    • A SAUSD Preschool Program (See Options Below)

    2/3/2018-12/1/2019

    Parents may choose:

    • A SAUSD Preschool Program (See Options Below)

    State Pre-School

    State Preschool is a state funded Preschool program administered by the Santa Ana Unified School District. Our goal is to prepare children for Kindergarten. This program serves children from 3 to 5 years of age. 

     


     

    Head Start

    Head Start is a Pre-Kindergarten program administered by the Santa Ana Unified School District to prepare children for Kindergarten. This program serves children from eligible families ages 3 to 5 years old.
