SUPPORT SERVICES
Support Services provides an extensive spectrum of services and supports to enhance student success. Interventions are designed to assist students who are struggling with attendance, social-emotional issues, discipline, health, and mental health. One of the areas of focus for the Support Services department is the implementation of Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS) which is an evidence-based framework that increases the utilization of alternatives to discipline, building positive expectations school-wide, and targeted interventions. In addition, the development of Restorative Practices strategies have provided a means for students to build community within their classrooms as well as participating in circles to resolve conflicts such as bullying. Support Services ensures that students impacted by trauma and/or crisis are provided debriefings through our crisis response team and mental health support through our school-based mental health partnerships. The enrollment process is managed through Support Services to ensure that all parents and students have equitable access to the school that best fits their needs. Stay in School Counselor and transition services are provided to increase graduation rates and facilitate a successful transition for students re-entering the District. Specific supports are also designed to meet the unique challenging living situations such as Mc-Kinney Vento (homeless), and foster care. Support Services ensures that the comprehensive needs of the whole child and family are met through the work of highly trained and caring professionals.
