Explorers participate in police related training, county-wide competitions, ride-along's in the field with patrol officers, community service events, and field trips.  They learn about the law, court procedures, police patrol techniques, and organizational skills.  This will provide an opportunity for our Explorers to get a first-hand perspective on the reality of modern law enforcement.

    OCLEEAA / Explorer Academy

The Orange County Law Enforcement Explorer Advisor's Association (OCLEEAA), is comprised of law enforcement agencies from Orange County and Los Angeles County.  The association coordinates Explorer events throughout Orange County and sponsors the Explorer Academies.

The Explorer Academy is a five-day, live-in, intense academy designed to challenge Explorers physically, mentally, and emotionally to achieve their ultimate goals.  The Academy simulates a basic law enforcement (Peace Officer) academy.  During the Academy, Explorers participate in numerous law enforcement training classes (classroom and hands-on) and physical training.  There are scheduled annual academies in February and August; they are usually held at the Boy Scouts Irvine Ranch Outdoor Education Center
