SAUSD offers three Delta Dental plans for its benefit-eligible employees.

    Delta Care USA DHMO
The Delta Care USA DHMO plan requires you to choose one dentist or dental facility to coordinate all your dental health needs.  If you do not choose a dentist or facility, one will be assigned to you and your family.

When you receive a dental service, you pay a fixed dollar amount for the treatment (a "co-payment").

If you need to see a specialist, your primary care dentist will refer you.  Specialty care may require pre-authorization.

    Delta Dental Incentive DPPO
The Delta Dental Incentive DPPO plan works in a tier system and offers a large network of dentists to choose from.

The Incentive tier system places you at 30% co-payment for the first year, which decreases by 10% each year you use the for a full routine exam.  Typically, employees reach 0% co-payment responsibility by their fourth year.

Members receive the highest level of benefits when they visit a Delta Dental preferred provider.

    Delta Dental Network DPPO
The Delta Dental Network DPPO plan is an in-network plan and offers a large network of dentists to choose from.

With Network DPPO, you can visit preferred or non-preferred providers. However, you receive 100% coverage up to your calendar year maximum each year when you visit a preferred provider for covered services.

Members receive the highest level of benefits when they visit a Delta Dental preferred provider.
