In 1998, the California Legislature passed Senate Bill 50, which authorizes school districts to levy developer fees in order to finance the construction or reconstruction of school facilities required to meet the educational demands created by new construction within their respective districts.
Developer fees are levied by the Santa Ana Unified School District pursuant to the provisions of Section 17620 of the Education Code, as well as Sections 65995 and 66001 of the Government Code. Any residential or commercial/industrial construction project within the School District boundary may be subject to the fee.The Santa Ana Unified School District will ONLY accept payment in the form of a MONEY ORDER or CASHIER'S CHECK.
