Kindergartners to university graduate students in Sacramento, CA, are brought together to learn about agriculture and environmentally sustainability - from building solar-powered toy cars to surveying land.
Elsewhere, high school student intern and shadow at local hospitals, often spending whole days in one department such as surgery.
These are but two examples of career technical education in action. WestEd is evaluating the impact of such programs to help increase the number of high school graduates who are ready for college and career.
Across the country, WestEd staff successfully work on many more evaluation and research-based projects, and partnerships with schools, education agencies, policymakers, and others in education and human development. Our primary goal? Success for every learner.

On Wednesday, April 3rd, The Education Trust—West will release its third annual District Report Cards, and your district is among the 148 unified districts across the state to receive grades focused on how well students of color and low-income students are doing on key academic measures.

You will receive an embargoed document with district report card grades on Tuesday, April 2, the day before we will issue a press release and our website will go "live" with this year's grades.

The following week, on April 11, The Education Trust—West will host a webinar conversation with a few leaders from some of the top-rated districts to discuss practices and strategies that have contributed to their consistently higher grades on our district report cards.We hope you’ll join us.Save the date for this exciting and informative webinar about what districts can do to help all students succeed.
