The Santa Ana Unified School District Board of Education recently recognized Rosalina Espinoza, an ELD Coordinator at Century High School, as Certificated Employee of the Month for November 2019.

Jonathan Swanson, Ed.D., Principal at Century High School, had the following to say about Rosie during the Board meeting:

"Rosie works closely with parents, teachers, and students within her role. She likes to empower parents to become involved through School Site Council and ELAC.

She collaborates with teachers to teach, motivate, and counsel students to achieve their goals through education. English Learner students are her passion.

Rosie is truly an asset to not only Century High School but also SAUSD. She is always friendly, positive and willing to help work toward solutions.

Some of her key contributions involve testing and placement of English Learner students, overseeing the newcomer academy, providing intervention services to students, and supporting teachers with effective teaching strategies for differentiation, not to mention spearheading the Single Plan for Student Achievement at Century.

Rosie takes great pride in advocating for our English Learners and oversees our "mentor” program for English Learners.

Rosie is an amazing support to all teachers and students.
She is kind and has a positive attitude at all times. She consistently looks for resources for students and researches better ways of doing our work of helping students succeed.

She is tireless in her approach and volunteers to help with a variety of tasks above and beyond her workload. Not only that, but she oversees our school recognition committee.

It is fantastic to recognize someone who constantly focuses on others. Rosie is an SAUSD superstar!"

Congratulations Rosalina!
