The SAUSD Board of Education this week recognized Hector Ceniceros as the District’s Certificated Employee of the Month for September 2019. Ceniceros is a Program Specialist in the Special Education Department.
Hector Ceniceros is the very model of dedication and teamwork. He steps in when other people are out or are unable to fulfill an assignment. He graciously accepted to work the majority of the past summer to support school sites and the department to ensure all students’ needs were taken care of.
In addition to supporting school sites he also helped prepare for the upcoming school year, as he knew the admin team was not fully staffed. Hector takes initiative and demonstrates himself to be very dependable. Routinely, Hector worked with special education administers on day-to-day operations integral to preparing for the 2019/2020 school year.
In addition, Hector is a great sounding board and demonstrates a pattern of rational decision making that is always focused on serving the student in the best way possible. In doing so, Hector demonstrates compassionate understanding for parents and the challenges often faced by special need students. Hector helps parents make decisions with supporting their child’s educational development in very compassionate and eloquent ways.
During the summer, Hector was asked to work additional days to support the students and program. Not once did Hector express any complaint or concern. In fact, Hector had a smile each day he worked. He also took the initiative to learn conversational American Sign Language to support his communication with students.
Hector is passionate, skilled, and overall a great team player. He steps up throughout the year, but stepped up more this summer to support the special education department and the students we serve.
Throughout the year, Hector worked diligently to ensure all our students needs were met and actively communicates with stakeholders along the way.
