52 SAUSD Schools Recognized for Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Implementation by California PBIS Commission

Santa Ana Unified School District (SAUSD) had 52 sites recognized for their Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Implementation by the California PBIS Commission.

Twenty five sites received the highest recognition level: Platinum. The following sites received platinum: Carver Elementary School, Diamond Elementary School, Edison Elementary School, Esqueda Elementary School, Franklin Elementary School, Fremont Elementary School, Garfield Elementary School, Godinez Fundamental High School, Harvey Elementary School, Heninger Elementary School, Heroes Elementary School, Jackson Elementary School, Lincoln Elementary School, Macarthur Fundamental Intermediate, Martin Elementary School, McFadden Intermediate School, Mendez Fundamental Intermediate School, Monte Vista Elementary School, Muir Fundamental Elementary School, Saddleback High School, Sierra Intermediate School, Thorpe Fundamental School, Valley High School, Villa Fundamental Intermediate, and Walker Elementary School.

An additional 17 sites received Gold recognition: Those sites are: Carr Intermediate School, Davis Elementary School, Greenville Fundamental School, Kennedy Elementary School, King Elementary School, Lowell Elementary School, Madison Elementary School, Monroe Elementary School, Pio Pico Elementary School, Roosevelt Elementary School, Santiago Elementary School, Segerstrom High School, Sepulveda Elementary School, Spurgeon Intermediate School, Taft Elementary School, Washington Elementary School, and Wilson Elementary School.

Ten sites received Silver: Adams Elementary School, Advanced Learning Academy, Century High School, Hoover Elementary School, Lathrop Intermediate School, Lorin Griset Academy, REACH Academy, Romero-Cruz Elementary, Santa Ana High School, and Willard Intermediate School. 

California PBIS State Recognition is a multifaceted process.  School sites had to submit applications with their documentation of various evidence-based criteria.

Criteria included implementation fidelity across the three tiers of PBIS implementation, office discipline referral rates, CA school suspension dashboard color or documentation of a downward trend in suspension rates, advanced tiers of intervention and progress monitoring, academic outcomes, and evidence-based classroom practices. 

SAUSD provides on-going PBIS trainings and coaching to support sites in attaining full implementation of PBIS and support the enhancement of creating a positive school climate to enhance the learning environments for ALL students.
