SAUSD Working with Lions to Provide Free Vision Screening, Recycled Glasses at Century High School on April 13, 2019
The Santa Ana Unified School District (SAUSD) is working in conjunction with several Lions Club International groups to provide free vision screening and recycled eyeglasses to those in need from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at the Century High School gym, 1401 S. Grand Ave. in Santa Ana.
SAUSD is working with three Lions Clubs from Santa Ana, Tustin and Orange, as well as the California Lions Friends In Sight that is providing essential equipment and an inventory of thousands of recycled eyeglasses.
“Anyone in need is welcome to come,” said Cesar Vargas, president of the Santa Ana Host Lions Club. “No documentation is required. This service is completely free for students and others of all ages. No donations will be solicited, nor any items sold.”
Services will be given on a first come, first serve basis; participants are encouraged to arrive early.
Free diabetes screening and information on avoiding or managing diabetes will also be available that day, sponsored by local Leo Clubs - high school students who are affiliated with local Lions Clubs.
Lions Clubs are local service clubs that affiliate with Lions Club International, the largest international service club organization.
