SAUSD Board of Education Adopts Resolution Proclaiming 'We Care Day’ in SAUSD

The Board of Education at its Jan. 28, 2025 meeting adopted a resolution proclaiming February 19, 2025 as “We Care Day.”

We Care Day is an extension of the “We Care. Get Help” District-Wide Campaign and is a day to promote mental health awareness and prevention efforts, including suicide.

The impact of suicide in our school community has resulted in the creation of the “We Care, Get Help” Campaign to increase students’ comfort in seeking and receiving help and equipping school staff in responding to crisis.

In the past, We Care Day has been far reaching and has allowed for a unique generation of students, parents, school staff, and community members to become ambassadors of mental health and suicide prevention.

As the need for mental health services and resources continues to increase in our SAUSD community, it is important to provide opportunities for student, staff  and parent engagement in mental health related programming to promote help-seeking behaviors and increase referrals and resources across our district and community.
