It is with deep sadness that we at Santa Ana Unified School District (SAUSD) share the passing of Dr. Al Mijares, a visionary leader who served as our superintendent for more than 11 years (1994-2006). Dr. Mijares was a champion for education, dedicating his life to fostering academic achievement and student well-being across diverse communities, including Santa Ana.
His leadership, compassion, and commitment to students have left an indelible mark on our district and beyond. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.
Dr. Mijares’ enduring legacy of kindness, integrity, and service will continue to inspire the SAUSD community for generations to come.
