Cassandra Cabrera Has Been Named an Orange County Teacher of the Year!

Mendez Fundamental Intermediate School Science Teacher Cassandra Cabrera has been honored as an Orange County Teacher of the Year!

On May 2, administrators from the Orange County Department of Education, Superintendent Jerry Almendarez, members of his cabinet, and school officials, including Cassandra's family, surprised her with a visit to Mendez Fundamental Intermediate School to extend their congratulations. Earlier this year, Cassandra was recognized as SAUSD’s Intermediate Teacher of the Year, earning the distinction after standing out among her peers in the annual nomination process. This achievement made her eligible for county-level recognition.

Cassandra Cabrera has been a fixture at Mendez Fundamental Intermediate School for 11 years, embodying dedication and innovation. As a trailblazing green architecture teacher, she has introduced pioneering CTE programs, expanding students' horizons. Her unwavering commitment to STEM education extends beyond the classroom, fostering inclusivity and excellence. She is a true luminary in the field of education.
