SAUSD's Greenville Fundamental School held a schoolwide career day event March 10, 2023 to introduce scholars to a range of professional pathways available to them after high school graduation.
The event drew 42 guest speakers, from ABC7 reporter Jessica De Nova, to homegrown professional boxer Alexis Rocha, to local elected officials including SAUSD Board Clerk Hector Bustos, and City Councilmembers Johnathan Hernandez and David Penaloza.
Participants visited individual classrooms, where they spoke to scholars about their professional trajectories and what it's like to work in their field.
"If you really want to do something, whether it’s boxing or football or succeed in school," Rocha told students, "You just have to really work hard and follow your dreams. And believe in yourself to get those dreams."
The event aimed to get scholars thinking about their goals for the future, aligning with the District’s mission to prepare all students for success in college and career.
