Congressman Lou Correa Names SAUSD Board Vice President Valerie Amezcua a “2020 Hispanic Heritage” Nominee
In celebration of Hispanic Heritage month, Congressman Lou Correa (D-Santa Ana) named Santa Ana Unified School District (SAUSD) Board Vice President Valerie Amezcua as a “2020 Hispanic Heritage” nominee under the education category.
Amezcua was recognized for her “unwavering dedication and commitment to provide equity and access to all our students and community through her advocacy and policy making,” according to her award letter.
Each year Correa recognizes individuals in the 46th District that have contributed to Hispanic Heritage in the areas of arts and culture, education, business, and non-profit community work.
This year’s nominees were recognized alongside other distinguished members from the community during a virtual recognition event on Oct. 17 via the Congressman’s Facebook page. To watch the celebration, click here.
