• The Bond Oversight Committee Members are generally appointed by a school Board Member and volunteer their knowledge, skills, and time as a service to the community. The committee ensures that all revenues generated by the bond measure are spent as described in the ballot measure. The committee will also hold an annual public meeting regarding the expenditure and status of funds generated by the bond measure.

By approving a bond to improve and build schools, the citizens of Santa Ana took an important first step to meet the unique challenges of this school district. It is important that community involvement and oversight continue as schools are planned and built. For that reason, the Bond Oversight Committee, a group of private citizens appointed by the school board, meets quarterly on behalf of the taxpayers to ensure bond money is spent wisely. The Committee acts in an advisory capacity to the school board, although it does not directly approve projects, funding or direct District staff.
