Parents, Students, and Staff,
STAY HOME, if one of the following reasons applies to you:
Reason 1 - Symptoms
- You experience one or more of the following symptoms:
*Fever (> or = 100.4° F) *Cough *Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing *Fatigue/Muscle or body aches *New loss of taste or smell *Sore throat *Congestion or runny nose *Nausea or vomiting or diarrhea *Headache
**DO NOT ASSUME your symptoms are due to a cold/flu **
Reason 2 - Test Results
- You tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 10 days
Reason 3 – UPDATED - Traveled outside of the State of California or Outside of the Country
- Per recent state/local health department and CDC guidelines, SAUSD is NO LONGER requiring individuals, including students, to quarantine after traveling outside the State of California and/or country. Current CDC guidelines do RECOMMEND a COVID test to be taken on the 3rd to 5th day after an individual returns to the State of California from their travel or trip, REGARDLESS of their vaccination status. Parents/students can speak with the school nurse for details or testing locations.
PLEASE REPORT YOUR COVID CASE IMMEDIATELY!
Parents of SAUSD Students, if any of the above reasons apply to your child, please call your school site to report your child’s symptoms and/or possible COVID exposure/situation. Do not have your child physically attend school. Your school site will be able to provide you further guidance.
Staff Members, if any of the above reasons apply to you, please click here to be directed to the SAUSD Staff COVID-19 Protocols. Complete the steps indicated in the SAUSD Staff COVID-19 Protocols to find out if it is safe for you to physically report to work.
Quarantine Durations may vary due to the type of symptom(s), improvement of symptom(s), COVID-19 test results, and/or health provider documentation/advice. The quarantine duration or end date is determined based on the guidelines set by CDC, state, and/or OC Health Care Agency. Click Here for details.
CDPH (California Department of Public Health) has provided a self assessment tool on how to manage confirmed or suspected COVID-19 among students at school. Please click here to access this tool.
