Santa Ana Unified School District
Santa Ana Unified School District and our schools are committed to providing accurate and transparent information regarding COVID-19 cases on our campuses and District facilities, while also maintaining privacy and confidentiality for our students and staff.
The data below represents the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases among our students and staff on our campuses and District facilities for in-person instruction and/or on-site activities only. Cases indicated on the dashboard are only for individuals that were present at any SAUSD site during their infectious period. This data will be updated weekly.
In the event of a positive case, school communities will be notified by the school’s principal, school staff, and/or the District’s Covid Task Force with directions and other important information.
Scroll to the bottom of this page for more information regarding SAUSD Case Reporting, Contact Tracing, and COVID Exposure Case Investigations.
**This number may fluctuate due to changes in student enrollment or new employee hires.
*** One or more of the cases at this site was not added to the total number of cases since it was the same individual(s) that traveled to multiple campuses or sites.
Counts are for cases in the last 7 days.
The Dashboard is updated every Monday.
Case Reporting, Contact Tracing and Investigation
SAUSD will continue to investigate, contact trace, and report COVID-19 cases to the local public health department as required. Confirmed positive COVID-19 cases will also be inputted on a weekly basis on the SAUSD COVID Dashboard.
For low risk COVID-19 exposures, SAUSD will notify staff members, students, parents, and visitors that were present at a SAUSD site, during an infectious period, of a positive COVID-19 case. After SAUSD completes its contact tracing investigation, SAUSD will contact individual(s) that had close contact with the person that tested positive for COVID-19. SAUSD will proceed with the required guidelines set by CDC, State, and/or OC Health Care Agency for the individual(s) identified as a close contact(s).
Per CDC, State, and/or OC Health Care Agency, close contact is defined as being within 6 feet of an individual with COVID-19 for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more within a 24 hour period.
