- Board of Education Approves Comprehensive Plan for Safely Resuming Instruction for 2020-2021
-
The Santa Ana Unified School District (SAUSD) began the 2020-2021 school year on Aug. 17, 2020 entirely through distance learning out of concern for the safety and well being of the entire school community.
This decision came as the number of COVID-19 cases throughout Santa Ana, and across California and the rest of the country continued to climb at an alarming rate.
Although the District is currently using distance learning, it also continues to plan for in-person instruction to resume when it is determined safe to do so by local and state health care agencies, the Board of Education, and the Santa Ana community.
A tentative timeline was presented to the SAUSD Board of Education on Sept. 22 for students to return to in-person instruction in a hybrid model. It's important to note that this is a tentative timeline that will depend on ongoing health factors in our community.
Here are some links and phone numbers that may be helpful to students and families as SAUSD begins the 2020-21 school year.
