The role of the Santa Ana Unified School District's Extended Learning department is to provide extended learning opportunities to students before and after school hours. Learning opportunities range from academic assistance, health and wellness, to technology, enrichment, and student leadership.

To service the needs of SAUSD students, we offer two programs. The Engage 360° ASES program services students enrolled in grades TK-8. The high school ASSETs program services students enrolled in grades 9-12.

About Engage 360° After School Programs (TK-8)

 

The mission is to provide SAUSD students in grades TK-8th with a safe environment that is a true extension of the academic school day. Students engage in meaningful academic support, varied enrichment, and health and wellness that accelerate their outcomes linked to the Santa Ana Unified School District’s Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) goals.  

The Engage 360° team looks forward to having your child(ren) in the program. Our goal is to strengthen students' social skills and to provide relevant learning opportunities fit for the 21st century.

Throughout the academic school year, school site coordinators engage in professional development, focusing on topics such as Homework Success Indicators, PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention & Supports) behavioral management training, and program quality assurance, with the intent to broaden academic horizons for students.

Hours are Monday through Friday from school dismissal until 6:00 p.m. The Engage 360° Program operates on school days, and is closed during winter/ spring recess, school holidays and pre-determined closure days.

In 2016, nearly 100% of parents surveyed said they felt that their child(ren) benefited from participating in the Engage 360° enrichment programs, while 98.4% percent of parents surveyed said they felt that their child(ren) received the homework support he/she needed after school through the program.

About Dads University

Dads University provides fathers “Real Time” developmental asset building experiences with their child(ren). Periodically, Dads University offers "Daddy and Me" days at various venues in the community. These opportunities are not only considered as workshop offerings, but allows fathers to bond with their children while setting short and long term goals.

Most events are open for both genders. However, some events may have themes that are exclusively for girls or boys. Dads University is open to all fathers residing in the city of Santa Ana.
