Policy in alignment with the Board Pupil use of Technology Policy 6163.4
- School-wide policy - all phones and other personal devices should be stored away during class time, unless otherwise stated by the classroom teacher.
- Teachers will explicitly state (or use appropriate signage), when personal phones and other devices can be out and used.
- Students must turn-in their cell-phones to teachers prior to leaving the room during class time, such as using the restroom. Students will be given their phones upon return.
- When technology is being misused by students, the teacher will confiscate said technology, labeling the device with the students’ name and ID number. At the end of the school day, teachers will immediately turn confiscated technology into the discipline office.
- Parents must come to the discipline office to pick up confiscated phones and devices at the end of the school day, no exceptions.
- If technology is not currently allowed in class, Minga/digital hall passes will be created by the teacher, or a class device will be available for students to create a pass.
It is highly suggested that personal devices, such as tablets, personal laptops, and gaming consoles, are left at home. Lost, damaged, or stolen devices will not be paid for or replaced by the school or district.
