  • About Mr. Peterson:

    Mr. Peterson initially attended Arizona State University. However, he quickly realized that he wanted to return home and, eventually, transferred to University of California, Irvine. While earning his bachelor of arts in economics and sociology, he was coaching basketball at his alma mater, Marina High School, in Huntington Beach. During this time, he realized his love for helping others learn and grow. That's when he decided to pursue his teaching credential in social studies and master of arts in teaching at UCI as well. After spending a year as a substitute teacher in Huntington Beach, Mr. Peterson finally received his first opportunity to have his own classroom at Lorin Griset Academy in Santa Ana. After his first year, he was sent to work at Santiago K-8 in Santa Ana where he spent the past nine years teaching seventh and eighth grade history. This will be his first year at Segerstrom High School as a U.S. government and economics teacher, which is truly the fruition of his plan that he created over ten years ago. He cannot wait to meet his new Jaguar family!
