Dear Students and Parents,

I am thrilled to welcome you to my classroom for the 2024-2025 school year. My name is Kelly Stevens, and I will be your teacher for ES World History or CP Economics/Government. Allow me to share a bit about myself so you'll know what to anticipate as we embark on this educational journey together.

Born and raised in Garden Grove, I am proud to call myself a local. I graduated from Rancho Alamitos High School and earned both my BA and MA from UCLA, focusing on World History and Critical Pedagogy. Outside the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family, devouring books, running long distances, traveling, exploring global cuisine, and cheering for the Lakers and Dodgers.

My career has provided me with diverse teaching experiences in subjects such as AVID, US History, Sociology/Psychology, APEX, World History, Economics/Government, and Leadership. I've taught at various schools across Southern California, and each opportunity has shaped my teaching philosophy. These experiences have instilled in me a strong belief in delivering a quality education that is both rigorous and holistically supportive of each student.

This year, we will strive to create a learning environment that nurtures the whole being. Building meaningful relationships and connections has always been a cornerstone of my approach, and in these challenging times, fostering community is more vital than ever.
