    INFORMATION ABOUT MY CLASS:

At the beginning of the semester, Library Media Aides kick off the class by mastering the Destiny library and textbook circulation system in the initial six weeks. They also delve into textbook processing for new and weeded books, and engage in the district's spring semester textbook inventory scanning, all under the guidance of Mrs. Wright, the Teacher-Librarian, and Library Media Technician, Mrs. Gonzalez. The Aides maintain a professional and welcoming approach with all staff and students, offering assistance with a courteous greeting.

Library Media Aides are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to manage a library effectively. They practice organizing books on a cart shelf until they complete the training program successfully. Upon mastery, students transition from training to the library shelves. They assist with freshmen class orientations on utilizing Destiny, our online public access catalog, and accessing books on the shelves. By the twelfth week, student-run services for the library's reception and circulation are primarily managed by the students, with supervision and backing from the Teacher-Librarian and Library Media Technician.

After twelve weeks of training rotations, students choose to work in the area(s) that align best with their skills and strengths.
