Welcome,

I'm Mr. Shanks a Credentialed Special Education Teacher in my 26th year of Education throughout the Santa Ana Unified School District. I've taught here at Godinez Fundamental High School for 12 years in the Special Education Department. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studies and a Master's Degree as an Educational Specialist. I'm the Atlas Program Department Chair and take great pride in the development of the ATLAS Program. A wide variety of programs have been developed here at Godinez to serve as school-wide behavior models in order to improve the overall behavior of students on campus. However, the Boys Town Educational Model is the primary strategy implemented within the Atlas Program, several key components are Effective Praise, Corrective Teaching, and Planned Teaching. The ATLAS Program is a multi-component program designed to assist students in addressing challenging behavior through healthy relationships and the explicit teaching of social skills.
