Growing up in Santa Ana, I had phenomenal educators who took the time to mentor, support, and challenge me to be the best version of myself. Through the love and support of my mentors, family, and community, I graduated from Godinez in 2015 and went on to become the first in my family to graduate from college. In 2019, I graduated from The George Washington University in Washington, DC with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Then, in 2020, I graduated from Stanford University with a Master of Arts degree in Education and an English teaching credential. From 2020 to 2023, I worked as an English teacher for Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). I am happy to now be working back home in my community. In my classes, I hope students have the opportunity to discover and nurture the voice that they will use to advocate for themselves and their communities.
