Language Arts Department Links
The links presented are for online programs and tools that may be used in language arts classes. Please note that each link has the login conventions. If you have any difficulty logging in, or questions about the programs, please contact the language arts teacher.

Aeries
Students and parents should check Aeries no less than once a week to stay up to date on student progress. Contact the front office if you need Aeries access.

Accelerated Reader
Accelerated Reader is MacArthur's reading accountability program. Students read books independently, and then take quizzes.
Login Conventions
Username: student ID# (123456)
Password: sID# (a lowercase "s" for student and then the ID number, s123456)

Reading Plus is an online literacy program that improves students' fluency and vocabulary skills.
Login Conventions

Lexia is a reading, language, vocabulary, and grammar support program that students may use in language arts class.

NoRedInk
NoRedInk is an online program where students practice grammar and writing skills.

Login through Google, as long as you are signed into your sausdlearns.net account.

MYAccess
MYAccess is an online program that assesses writing and provides instant feedback for student submissions. Whenever we are working on an essay or extended writing assignment, students will use MYAccess for one of the submissions.

Sora Online Books
Can't find the book you want in the library? Try the Sora app! It's a collection of online books that you check out through your sausdlearns account.
Similar to a library, though, you do have a limited time to access the text.

Canvas LMS
Canvas is a Learning Management System, LMS, used for some language arts courses.
Login Conventions
To access Canvas, students will need to use the "waffle" menu from the Google Homepage when they are logged into their sausdlearns account.
Parents can still use the link above to make an account or log in.

Quizlet
Quizlet is an online tool for studying vocabulary. Students will have virtual notecards and a series of games and challenges to practice terms that are important for the class.

Dictionary
Dictionary.com is a free, easy to use online dictionary. Thesaurus.com is also available, too.

Word Hippo
Word Hippo is an easy-to-use thesaurus that also can find rhyming words, word forms, and many other vocabulary developing tools.

Citation Machine
Use this resource to create works cited pages. Also, it has a free-to-use grammar check for any piece of writing.

Britannica Online
All SAUSD students can use the encyclopedia Britannica Online. Login is available through students' sausdlearns.net accounts.
