    Advancement Via Individual Determination
    What is AVID?

AVID is as an elective course that meets regularly (five days per week). Each week, students receive a period of instruction, which includes instruction in tutor led study groups and one period in motivational activities and academic survival skills that emphasize critical reading and writing skills. AVID students are encouraged to take prep courses in middle school and move into honors/advanced placement courses in high school. AVID seniors may receive University of California a-g elective credit upon completion of the AVID Seminar class.

At MacArthur, Tammy Manske is the AVID teacher.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays during lunch, you can visit Room 29 to get help from college students!
