AVID is as an elective course that meets regularly (five days per week). Each week, students receive a period of instruction, which includes instruction in tutor led study groups and one period in motivational activities and academic survival skills that emphasize critical reading and writing skills. AVID students are encouraged to take prep courses in middle school and move into honors/advanced placement courses in high school.
