MacArthur's CJSF chapter works to provide community service in a variety of ways. Each member must participate in two service projects each semester.
Peer Tutoring
At MacArthur, CJSF members provide tutoring services to students through our Tutor Corps.

Campus and Community Clean-up Throughout the year, CJSF has participated in a campus clean-up. We visit the Newport Aquatic Center (NAC) to clean up the beach and the Back Bay, move boats, and weed the garden planters. Afterwards, members learn to kayak, stand-up paddle board, and outrigger and enjoy time for friendship! We also have Campus Clean-up events where we pick up litter found on our school grounds.
Halloween Game Booth
During the October dance, the CJSF usually hosts a Pumpkin Bowling and Lollipop Luck games.
This year, due to the pandemic campus closure, all dances have sadly been postponed.
History Faire & College/Career Day Ambassadors
In previous years, on the day of the 7th grade History Faire, 8th grade CJSF members served as student assistants at each of the rotation activities as well as in the Counting House. Their experience was a tremendous help on this busy day. For the May College & Career Day, CJSF members served as ambassadors, assisting and escorting our speaker guests. They showcased the MacArthur Tiger spirit and are role models for our school. This year, as the health crisis evolves, we will be providing assistance as needed.
Additional service opportunities are also available. Just ask!
