The Social Science Department is comprised of diverse, well-qualified, and dedicated educators who seek to provide a learning environment that promotes the development of informed, broad-minded, responsible, and ethical citizens. They are committed to the incorporation of the most recent innovations in their disciplines and the utilization of the latest technology to enhance classroom instruction and high levels of student engagement, both in our curriculum and in achieving our Champions of Character attributes.

Students in the program will progress through an integrated curricular path with a focus on , Regional/World Geography, A.P. Human Geography, World History, U.S. History, U.S. Economics, and U.S. Government.  In addition, students may explore Sociology and Psychology in their elective courses.  GFHS students are encouraged to take on the challenges of AP European History, AP US History, AP Economics, AP Government and AP Psychology whenever possible!
