Mrs. Perez

About Mrs. Perez:

Mrs. Perez was born in Mexico City, Mexico. Along with her family, she came to the United States at the age of four. Mrs. Perez grew up in the city of Santa Ana. She is a proud product of the Santa Ana Unified School District. She attended Franklin Elementary, Lathrop Intermediate, and Century High School. Upon graduating high school she got accepted to Cal State University Fullerton. There she obtained her Bachelor degree in Child Adolescent Studies in 2002 and Multiple Subject Teaching Credential in 2004. Years later, she would obtain her masters degree in Education from National University.

Initially, her goal was to teach elementary school, but life took her in an unexpected direction. Her first teaching position was at Lathrop Intermediate, her Alma Mater. Working with students there made her realize that it was her calling to impact youth and be a positive role model within the community she grew up in. Therefore, she went back to school for a single subject credential in English. In 2011 she got hired at Godinez Fundamental High School.

"Every day I set foot on campus I feel blessed to be surrounded by such caring staff and students that strive to be their best. If there is anything you can ever learn from me it is that I always remember my struggles and use them to encourage students to reach their goals. If I can do it,  ANYONE can do it!"  -Mrs. Perez
