EVERY students is required to have a notebook (spiral or composition) in class EVERY day.

The students need to write and answer "Bellwork" questions (questions that are on the board when the bell rings) EVERY day. Additionally, any lecture notes taken in class, some simple labs and worksheets, and any book homework (answer the review questions, define the vocabulary words, etc..) are done in the notebook.

This year, in Environmental Science, the bellwork is actually being done on a computer platform called Canvas.  They are done at the end of class, and can only be done on the day they are assigned.

The notebooks are graded by the students, and then collected and double checked my me approximately every 4 weeks. Any student who does not turn in their notebook on these days will earn an assignment card, and lose 20 points for each day their notebook is late. If the notebook is more than 1 week late, whatever score the students would have earned will be cut in half. The notebooks are graded using the following rubric.
