Principal's Message

  •  Principal’s Message 4/15/20

    Dear MacArthur Community,

As you may know, SAUSD has extended the campus closure until May 28, which is the last day of instruction. Unfortunately, due to safety concerns, our students will not be able to return to MacArthur Fundamental physically this school year.  We know the closure has been difficult for many people, MacArthur staff included, as we miss our students tremendously.

The school district is currently working on a plan to determine how grades will be determined given the campus closure. As soon as we have information, we will make sure to forward that to you. As of now, teachers are providing long-distance learning opportunities for students who are able to access the resources on the internet. Curriculum packets in math, ELA, and science will be mailed to all students who do not have internet access. These online learning resources and packets are considered enrichment, meaning they are meant to promote student learning during the school closure.

Each teacher is providing different resources for online learning support, which may include Google Classroom Assignments, Zoom sessions, or other online activities. You can access this information on our Online Learning Resource Page. If you have any questions regarding the online learning resources, please contact your child’s teacher.

We have set up two support lines for students and families. If you need support, resources, or have any questions, please do not hesitate to call or text the support lines.

    Students: 1 (323) 4-TIGERS or 1 (323) 484-4377

    Families: 1 (714) 497-0553
