Mr. Johan Arana

Mr. Johan Arana is currently the Family and Community Engagement Liaison at MacArthur Fundamental Intermediate School.

Johan Arana is a product of the Santa Ana Unified School District. He attended Wilson Elementary, McFadden Intermediate, and graduated from Saddleback High School. After graduating high school, Mr. Arana went to the University of California at Santa Barbara. After graduating from UCSB in 2009, Mr. Arana moved back to his community in Santa Ana, where he started volunteering in a 3rd-grade classroom at Jim Thorpe Fundamental. Mr. Arana’s roots in Santa Ana have given him a deep understanding of the assistance and support that is needed around the community.

Mr. Arana’s career in education began as a Site Coordinator for the after-school programs with Think Together. He then moved on and started his first district job at Lincoln Elementary as a Site Clerk. He recently worked as an Assessment and Data Specialist at Mendez Fundamental Intermediate School. Mr. Arana is currently at Concordia University Irvine pursuing his Master of Arts degree in School Counseling.

Mr. Arana enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking, and traveling during his free time. In addition, he enjoys attending community events in Santa Ana. If he is not spending time with family, hiking, or traveling, you might find him trying out a new eatery.  

Mr. Arana will work passionately to provide links/connections between the school, home, and community agencies, making our students, families, and community part of our Santa Ana Unified School district family. In addition, he will facilitate opportunities for community engagement that put our community, school staff, families, and students' well-being first, ensuring the students' overall wellness, health, socio-emotional, and academic success.
