This is our last week of school. So many of you have shown perseverance in maintaining educational stability for your child during this challenging time. This is the first time I have had so such parent contact other than volunteers and working the PTA and it is heartening to see your commitment while having to juggle so many circumstances. Even if you had to take a time out to deal with economic or health related issues, you were willing to return to focusing on your child's education. If technology was not available to you, then you worked on the district provided enrichment packets, other activities, and read.
This summer it will be more important than ever to have your child exposed to books, review sounds, sight words, read CVC words and review numbers. You can continue to use the helpful links on our school and district websites. Don't forget about the Sound Work videos I put on YouTube. Your child can start over and do the practice again. You can find the links on this sight. Continue working on Lexia if your child has not leveled up to Level 6 and work towards 100% in ST Math if your child has not completed that curriculum. The higher your child gets in Lexia, the longer it will take to make it through the levels, so be patient and just let them work on it for 15 to 20 minutes a day. Do not worry if it does not seem like they are moving on quickly.
This week, our Fairy Tale is The Three Little Pigs. I know many of you will not be doing a weeks’ worth of work, but I am providing it for those of you that want it. As usual, it is optional and there for enrichment purposes.
I will check my ClassDojo if you need to contact me during the summer. Please check the Santiago and District websites for important information and updates.
With appreciation of you,
