Mr. Mendoza

My name is Mr. Mendoza, and I am a student teacher from the California State University of Fullerton. I earned my BA degree in Art Education with honors in Fall 2020. I am currently working on my teaching credential and anxiously preparing myself to provide a just, equitable, collaborative, and inclusive learning environment in my classroom. I’m also a Valley Alumni and had Ms. Cardenas as my Art teacher during my senior year. I was amazed by the introduction of Art by Ms. Cardenas because my passion for drawing increased. My love for the Arts is so much that I decided to pursue a career in Art Education.

I work with various mediums such as graphite, watercolor, acrylic/oil paints, soft/oil pastels, ceramics, ink, textile weaver, and printmaking. I am a person that enjoys the process of learning and values students’ assets. Art goes beyond creating beautiful artwork; art influences society by changing views and opinions, instilling values and translating experiences across space and time.

The goal I set as a teacher is to create a multicultural environment where all students feel welcome and have the corresponding resources to succeed. I also aim to inspire you to learn, strive, and achieve in all of your classes. We are on this journey together, and I’m here to support you in whatever you need.

I’m looking forward to connecting and working with you and making this school year one of your best high school experiences.

Mr. Moreno

Hello, my name is Mr. Moreno. I am a student teacher from California State University Fullerton. I obtained my BA in Art Education in Fall 2020. I am in the process of getting my teaching credential in the Arts. My goal is to create a multicultural education plan that fosters an equitable and inclusive learning environment for all students to feel safe, validated, and respected. As a teacher, I also intended to make my students creative problem solvers, strong critical thinkers, and active citizens in their communities. I am motivated by experiences I had as a student with teachers that made me feel valued both as a student and person, and I would like to pass that on to my students. I am deeply passionate about the arts and how they connect us to one another. I work primarily in ink, watercolor, charcoal, and found object sculpture. I look forward to teaching and hope to learn from my students as much as I hope they learn from me.
