Where am I from?
Pau, France
My hometown is located in the south of France at the foothill of the Pyrénées mountains,
about 1 hour away from SpainWhere did I go to school?
Lycée Léonard de Vinci, Melun, France (HS)
Universitée de Pau et des Pays de l’Adour, Pau, France
Bachelor of Science in Physics,
Master of Science in Physical Chemistry.
What do I teach?
AP Physics 1
In AP Physics 1, I use inquiry-based instructional strategies that focus on experimentation to develop students’ conceptual understanding of physics principles. The students begin studying a topic by making observations and discovering patterns of natural phenomena. The next steps involve developing, testing, and applying models. Throughout the course, the students construct and use multiple representations of physical processes, solve multistep problems, design investigations, and reflect on knowledge construction using self-assessment rubrics.
Math Analysis (Precalculus)
Math Analysis is an introduction to calculus with functions, graphs, limits, area under a curve, and rates of change. On a daily basis, students work collaboratively with others as they use problem-solving strategies, complete investigations, gather evidence, critically analyze results, and communicate clear and effective arguments while justifying their thinking. This course combines procedural fluency (algorithms and basic skills), deep conceptual understanding, strategic competence (problem solving), and adaptive reasoning (application and extension). Following a successful completion of this course you will be granted access to college level math courses such as AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC and AP Statistics.
Algebra II
On a daily basis, students use problem-solving strategies, questioning, investigating, analyzing critically, gathering and constructing evidence, and communicating rigorous arguments justifying their thinking. Under teacher guidance, students learn in collaboration with others while sharing information, expertise, and ideas.
What else am I involved in?
Adopt a Kinder advisor What are my interests outside of school?
I love sports. I like to be physically active and enjoy playing any sport. I grew up practicing gymnastics, then judo and I played rugby for 12 years in France and in the US. I currently play hockey on Monday nights (with Mr. Conover) and Thursday nights. I go rock climbing at a local climbing gym and sometimes outdoors. I mountain bike on the weekends and during vacations. I also love to go hiking and go on camping trips with my family.
I love photography. I usually take lots if pictures when I travel. I used to turn my bathroom into a darkroom lab and develop films and print black and white photos. Now everything is way easier with digital cameras and photoshop but the passion is the same.
I love music, especially rock music. I like to go to rock concert. The last concert I went was the Pixies at the House of Blues in Anaheim and I am planning to go see System of a Down in San Bernardino in october.
