• SAUSD Invitational Robotics Challenge and STEAM Showcase

Seven schools with over 150 students competed in four different Robotic Challenges at the first SAUSD Invitational Robotics Challenge and STEAM Showcase. Schools included teams from Middle College, Santa Ana High School, Mendez Intermediate, MacArthur Intermediate, McFadden Intermediate, Sierra Preparatory and Lathrop Intermediate. The robotic challenges included four different events: Sumo Bot Challenge where students use mechanical and physical science skills, Claw Bot Challenge which has a robotic and teamwork skill focus, Maze Bot Challenge where students use their coding skills to program a robot around a maze and the Robot Design Challenge where students demonstrate their innovation and creativity.

CTE has been working with schools across the district to help prepare students for STEAM Careers. Competitions such as this help students develop real-life skills in STEAM Careers.
