SunPower Engineers Mentor Engineering Students
As part of the SunPower-Santa Ana Unified School District education partnership, four SunPower engineers from the Richmond and Anaheim office volunteered as virtual mentors for four Principles of Engineering (POE) classes in our high schools, utilizing video conferencing through the ACME network. ACME is the industry intermediary for the SANTA TECH Grant. In this 2- month project student built a 3-axis hydraulic crane. Schools that participated in this project were Century High School, Santa Ana High School, and Segerstrom High School.
Students in Mr. Wood’s engineering class at Segerstrom High School had the additional opportunity to work directly with their engineer when engineer Fielda Salindeho came to class. Pictured above is a group picture of students with Fielda Salindeho.
