Director's Note

  •

Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year. Today's graduates must be prepared for the ever-increasing demands of college and the workplace. This year we will continue to update and expand courses in our Career Pathways at both the intermediate and high schools.  I am also very excited about our new Career Technical Education (CTE) units of study we will be piloting at 4 of our elementary schools using the nationally recognized Project Lead the Way (PLTW) engineering curriculum.  Our goal in Career Technical Education (CTE) is to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to move on to whatever career path they choose. Our Career Pathways include:

      ·         Sequence of courses between intermediate, high school and college

      ·         Credit-bearing college courses offered in all pathways

      ·         Workplace training internship programs

      ·         Industry certification opportunities

      ·         Updated CTE course outlines that meet the University of California A-G eligibility requirements

Our hope is to prepare students for the full array of opportunities that await them after high school for both college and career.

    Our VISION:

The Santa Ana Unified School District's Career Technical Education Department will provide exemplary CTE programs and pathways that prepare all students to be "College and Career Ready."  The necessary services, curriculum, and technology will be delivered to enable all students to be successful.  The CTE Department will partner with all community stakeholders including businesses, parents, students, higher education institutions and other agencies to create a maximum impact in every student's education.

    Sincerely,

    Don Isbell, CTE Director
