Hello and thank you for visiting my page.
I am the middle child, with a sister a year and a half older, and a brother a year and a half younger. I grew up in Newton, Massachusetts, a suburb of Boston. My parents were both professional musicans, so pursuing a career in the arts came naturally to me. I graduated from Newton North High School in 1980.
After graduation, I studied art at the Art Institute of Boston and I spent two years teaching English as a second language at the Italo-American Association at Johns Hopkins University, in Bologna, Italy. When I returned to Boston, I worked in the Office of Student Services at the Art Institute of Boston and Lesley University and completed my Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts. I spent years working as the Director of Student Services, but decided that what I really wanted was to work more closely with students.
I moved to Southern California 20 years ago, and attended graduate school at night, while I working and raising two amazing children on my own. I earned a Masters M.Ed. in Cross-Cultural teaching.
