    Hello Parents and Community Members,

My name is Dr. Anissa Sequeida and I am the proud principal of Raymond A. Villa Fundamental Intermediate School. I am honored to lead the Villa family into the next era. Villa is a special school with qualities and traits that are unlike any previous site I've served. My experience brings an extensive background in instruction serving as a middle school and high school teacher as well as teacher on special assignment and test liaison. As an administrator I worked as a Dean of Students and Assistant Principal, and in those roles lead all of the different facets of the school site. My doctorate in education and dissertation study encompassed leadership and the study of 21st Century teaching and learning, which is particularly useful in moving Villa forward.

It is with great pride that I lead Villa. We have an excellent parent education program lead by community members and our very own on staff experts. Our school proudly bears the title of AVID National Demonstration school, the only in SAUSD. As an AVID demo site, all teachers are AVID trained, students benefit from AVID resources and practices, and our efforts are focused on preparing students for college. Villa provides opportunities for our students to explore CTE programs such as engineering and Project Lead the Way, Education and the TEACH academy, as well as our music and robust art program. We have many clubs and community partnerships that are great resources to students and parents/guardians.

Embedded support is present in every classroom with the adoption of school-wide SEL (social-emotional learning/wellness) practices. Every staff member receives ongoing training in SEL strategies in an effort to provide our students with the skills necessary to take them through adolescence into adulthood. We also remain committed to our Villa Values of Pride, Respect, and Achievement and reinforce the importance of these values in everything we do.

Here at Raymond A. Villa Fundamental Intermediate School we are a "Villa family" and we thank you for visiting our website.
