    Hello 8th graders. Wow, last year was such an amazing and productive school year. As 7th graders, I'm sure you all faced many challenges, but you were able to overcome them and be successful. This year will also have challenges, but I have confidence in each and every one of you. I know you are capable of meeting those challenges head on. My expectations will remain high for you, and I promise to work hard to meet your expectations for me. We are capable of anything we put our minds to. Now let's make the most of our time together and do this...
     
    Our ability to communicate with language is what makes humans special. English Language Arts is at the core of that concept. So, whether you are enjoying a classic novel, posting comments on Instagram, or learning about your new objective on Call of Duty, you are using language skills! This year you will learn some essential skills needed to be successful in high school and life. Trust me when I say you will be a better reader, writer, speaker, listener and student when you finish this school year. Do not be afraid to take risks and make mistakes, for that is what learning is all about! I can't wait to experience all our journey has to offer.  
     
     
     
    Study Sync
     
    I expect the 2024-25 school year to be busy, yet satisfying. Language Arts students will have an opportunity to improve their language and communication skills by using an online, interactive program called Study Sync. Students will spend their time in class reading fiction and nonfiction texts, while also practicing various types of writing. I'll be honest, you are going to work hard, and at times it may be challenging. But, I will be there with you every step of the way. We will work together to make you the best possible student you can be! Again, let's do this!
