WHAT IS PBIS?
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an evidence-based three-tiered framework to improve and integrate all of the data, systems, and practices affecting student outcomes every day. PBIS creates schools where all students succeed.
At Lathrop, all staff work together to support students using PBIS best practices. These include school-wide expectations that are shared with students and their families. Lathrop students know that they are expected to:
BE RESPECTFUL
BE RESPONSIBLE
BE SAFE
BE KIND
Here is our PBIS school-wide behavior matrix when students are on campus:
During distance learning, we have adjusted our behavior matrix:
A very important part of PBIS is rewarding students for positive behavior. We do this in a number of ways. In addition to receiving positive verbal and written feedback, students can also earn points for demonstrating respectful, responsible, and safe behaviors. These points can be used to "purchase" fun prizes and other incentives.
