School Pride

Lathrop Intermediate School is in the heart of Santa Ana, California on the corner of Main Street and McFadden Ave. This picture is of the original Julia C. Lathrop School that opened in January, 1924. The site has seen nearly 100,000 students travel through its doors and hallways on their way to adulthood, including movie star Marlon Brando. The original building faced Main Street and housed the Lathrop branch of the Santa Ana Public Library along with the school. When the building was deemed unsafe for earthquakes, the current building was constructed. Lathrop as we know it today opened in 1974.
