        In this class, you will learn how to create mobile apps and test them. You will also acquire and apply skills pertaining to the design process, problem-solving, persistence, collaboration, and communication. 7th & 8th Grade

        This robotics course emphasizes the design, building, operation, application, and documentation of robotic systems. Students follow the engineering design process, apply basic programming skills, and explore how robots and automated systems are used in industry. 8th grade only

      • Ethnic Studies

        This course aims to educate students to be politically, socially, and economically conscious about their personal connections to local and global narratives and histories through the interdisciplinary lens of Ethnic Studies.  By studying the histories of race, indigeneity, ancestry, national origin, diaspora, racism, hegemony, ethnicity, and culture, students will develop respect and empathy for individuals, groups of people locally, nationally, and globally.  8th grade only

        Students will focus on the mechanics of string instruments, tone quality, note reading, ear-training, sight-reading, and musical literacy within the context of orchestral performance. Orchestra is a performance-based class. Must have at least one year of string experience in grades 4-7

        This course aims to develop students’ skills and confidence in the areas of public speaking, research, debate, and creative performance through exposure to the competitive events of California Speech and Debate. The course will cover logic and argumentation, as well as the fundamentals of effective public speaking: preparation, pace, tone, facial and vocal expressiveness, and anxiety management. 7th & 8th grade
