    International Baccalaureate (IB)

The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program (DP) is a two-year comprehensive and rigorous pre-university curriculum leading to an IB diploma, taken in 11th and 12th grade. Successful IB candidates are typically granted college credit at the finest universities and colleges in the nation. Saddleback High School has been an IB World School since 2017 offering the Diploma Program, and as of July 2023, Saddleback is a candidate school for the IB Middle Years Program (MYP) for 7th-10th grades. Saddleback High School is not an intermediate school, but offers limited spots to 7th and 8th grade MYP students through a rigorous selection process.

    AVID

Our nation’s schools are full of students who possess a desire to go to college and the willingness to work hard, but many of them do not truly have the opportunity to be college-ready. These are often the students who will be the first in their families to attend college and are from groups traditionally underrepresented in higher education. AVID Secondary equips teachers and schools with what they need to help these students succeed on a path to college and career success.

    Visual and Performing Arts

The vision of SAUSD Arts Education is that every student receives arts instruction as a vital part of a well-rounded education in their broad course of study that prepares them, through their own path and transdisciplinary research in service of their ideas, to enter college and/or career with the technical and transferable skills they receive through arts discipline-specific education.  Through discrete and integrated arts learning, we are developing cultural and artistic literacy, visual, media, and digital literacy, and content literacy in the arts connected to all subject areas for every child. Our goal is to support the whole child to access learning in unique, joyful, and experiential ways that will shape leaders and creative thinkers who are the innovators of tomorrow in the global sharing economy.
