HOMEWORK POLICY
Greenville Fundamental School is based upon certain basic principles, one of which is nightly homework. The benefit derived from homework is that students are provided opportunities to practice at home the concept newly learned in the classroom. The program is effective when everyone involved demonstrates a commitment to AND responsibility for its success.
All students in grades K-5 have homework every day, Monday through Thursday. It is the responsibility of each child to know what their homework assignment is and to take home the appropriate materials when they leave school. Therefore, “forgotten” homework or materials are unacceptable. We request that parents do not bring students back to school to retrieve these items. It will be denied. Students who have 12 or more missing, late, or incomplete homework assignments during the school year, will be recommended for a fundamental transfer to the neighborhood school. Thank you for your support with this important aspect of teaching responsibility.
