The Spanish Language has grown tremendously in the last three years. It is ranked number two in the world and it is recognized as a World Language Class in the High School Curricullum. It is spoken in Africa, the Philippines, Cuba, Puerto Rico, The Dominican Republic and nineteen Latin American Countries and in many regions of the United States of America. The Spanish Language is included in the High School Curriculum as a requirement in order to attend a four year University. By studying the Spanish Language, students will have the opportunity to become efficient and ready to persue a higher education in the United States of America and have the academic skills of the 21st Century.Mr. UrreaSpanish Teacher2128 S. Phone: 714-430-5700My name is Gustavo Urrea. I have taught Spanish at Cesar Chavez High School since 2009. I have also taught at Santa Ana High School and at Century High School prior coming to Chavez. I graduated from Manual Arts High School in 1983. I was accepted and granted a full scholarship to the University of Redlands. I transferred from Redlands to Cal State Fullerton while working at Santa Ana High School as a Computer Lab Tech. I graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Spanish in 2004 and earned my Teaching Credential in 2005. In 2007 I earned my Masters in Spanish Literature. All from California State University, Fullerton.It is an honor to be part of the Chavez therapeutic family. Education is of keen importance and we are here to always support your sons and daughters psychologically and academically as they earn a High School Diploma. Thank you for allowing me to be part of this endeavor. I teach Spanish and Mexican American History with passion, hoping that my classes will be useful to each of my students in their college or vocational careers.
